Hope in these cold short days #WordlessWednesday

The emergence of the Dramia Maritima which will blossom into hundreds of tiny white blossoms probably in late summer.
White Camellias

Check out other photos at Hugh’s Place. He had asked this week about our favorite, festive colors and mine is white. I love white flowers – they make me feel hope.

  1. Interesting how the penis plant morphed. All those little flowers all over it and…the waiting.

We have many Camellias around this area. They defy seasons, blooming at the oddest times.

    1. Each time it rises from the ground it has another stalk. So far only two have emerged but I’m hopeful! The Camellias have been through a couple of droughts and a lot of abuse and they continue to bloom – they are amazing.

      1. That is the most interesting…bizarre plant.

We have the White Camellias and the Hot Pink ones, too. They line a street with a library, a cute bar, an art house and old homes, backing up to a river.

  2. White is certainly a festive colour, Jan. We have some white Christmas roses in our garden that are just about to flower. I feel sorry for them sometimes as they’re the only ones at the party, but they make these cold, grey, short winter days think more positively.
