Warning! ThursdayDooring leads to subversive and deviant crimes such as trespassing. You could wind up in the slammer with a long rap sheet.
Jan: “But, but Officer. You don’t understand. It’s an addiction. I really, really have to get a picture of a door and since all the public doors in town are so boring, well…”
Officer Gumbo: “Ma’am. We keep getting complaints from your neighbors. We have no alternative other than to take you in for a 24F infraction. Just be happy they didn’t accuse you of being a Peeping Jan. That’s a sex crime!”

In my neighborhood, houses tend to be set back from the street, thus their gates are the doors to their kingdom.
Thankfully I avoided arrest this time.
Check out other trespassers at Norm Frampton’s ThursdayDoors Event.
Cute intro! 🙂
Thanks! I was definitely stretching it this time!
Jan, I’m glad you’re not in the slammer, too. 😀
Officer Gumbo took pity on me but he did recommend I go to AA and confess to my addiction.
LOL!
Ha Ha Ha !!! Great post, Jan.
Thanks KC Gal!
You should dress up as a utility worker. :)))
Haha! Good idea!
Those huge gates are a crime against apertures!
They are a bit of an overkill!
Your photo with the caption “In my neighborhood … ” is nearly a work of art in itself.
Thanks Colm!
I like the cute wooden gate.
Me too – it’s my favorite.
I’m glad you avoided arrest, but a cell door might make a neat entry. I love the wooden door and I’m a sucker for iron work of any kind. Nicely done.
You’re right – I should have added a jail door!
There’s still time 😉
My Anxiety Disorder is definitely a barrier to some good photographs. 🙂 [On top of that: I wouldn’t do well in jail.]
Oh I don’t know – you take some might fine pictures!
Thanks. But there ain’t going to be one from the very ledge of a building. :0
There is a lot of truth in your third caption. There are several houses we skip at Halloween due to the number of stairs. Stairs and children in masks don’t mix all that well.
There are no sidewalks or streetlights in my neighborhood so we’ve never had trick or treaters!
Ha ha, very good Jan, glad you didn’t get arrested. In Spain it was the same. There was always a bell on the gate and that was usually locked. I think it’s because people live outside a lot, what with all the good weather most of the year round.
I like the idea of living outside most of the time – I wish I could work on our patio but the wi-fi isn’t strong enough.
Ha! I love it Jan 😀
Just remember that Thursday Doors does not provide bail money for those who get arrested while in the pursuit door photos. Though I may be able to send you a cake with a file in it 😉
Thanks Norm – make sure it’s a chocolate cake!
I like gates, too. I also know that feeling of feeling that someone’s going to come out and confront me. Good time for the telephoto, I guess. 🙂

Yes I’ll have to don my trench coat and Sherlock Holmes hat! “Never mind me – I’m on an important investigation!”
Yeah, let me know how that goes! 🙂 The police are more likely to get a call for that.
I liked the wooden gate though. I’ve often thought only gates will keep out those peddling crap I don’t want. They always ignore the “Solicitors Not Welcome” sign.
So glad to hear you avoid jail…this time!
I think that’s why some of my neighbors have put up the iron gates.
They need to build a jail dedicated to us Dooristas! Or are we Portalrazzi? All the cell doors would be unique and interesting, and we would just run around all day taking pictures of them. 😀
Haha! That’s probably true! Nothing like a gang of Dooristas! I like Portalrazzi too. Very clever!
