Flowers, I believe, always present their visage as an enticement to some pollinator. What, I wonder, wants to get close and personal with that?
Good point – I haven’t seen any bees buzzing around it!
In its native land bees, flies, beetles, butterflies, moths or hummingbirds might be the invitees.

Haha, hello Brian. I have two large bird of paradise shrubs in my garden. They grow very well here in Johannesburg.
My mother would have loved it. I don’t think we ever had any. Not even in the Nairobi garden.
