Due to the heat, our small town parade was a bit subdued but still fun.

Not many political folks out … No cheers for the Biden float and no mention of the other side.

Which is great, for a change. Power to the people.
I’m afraid it shows how angry people are with their lack of choice this year.
Imagine coming from an undemocratic country where you do have a choice, plenty of choices, actually, but what’s the use if you can’t choose any. That’s how totalitarian regimes stay in power. They lie and cheat on polls.
I’m afraid that what we’re heading for. It’s frightening how gullible and undereducated so many American have become.
It’s becoming a global trend, and we’re old-fashioned people.
The clash in this country is between people who want to return to the values of the 1950s and those who know society must change. They say Trump as a instrument of God and therefore can accept his failings as a human.
Oh my….
Happy Independence Day. Hugs.
❤️
Nice photos. Even in the heat, you have to love a parade.
Especially if you know many of the participants.
Looks like fun. I think today should be apolitical and we should all just celebrate our country.
I wish it had been a bit cooler! But it’s always fun!
Hi. It’s good to support Independence Day celebrations. Happy 4th!
Thanks! Hope you had a good one!
Looks like good fun. And no politics is something worth celebrating these days.
Yeah – but also it feels like we’re somewhat adrift. Too bad people don’t really know a lot about Kamala Harris – she was a fierce District Attorney.
The administration has totally undervalued her. She should have been out front from the start…
I agree!
When it comes to politics sometime neutral is the best you can get. No parade here this year, too rainy with lightning.
We could use the rain!
The parade looks like a lot of fun! We went to a bbq, and also did not talk much about politics due to differing opinions. The vibe this year, especially after the Supreme Court ruling last week, is very 1930s, and truly terrifying. My daughter said, “Happy last Independence Day”, meaning, last one ever. UGH.
So much fun – although some of the people in the parade literally look like they’re melting (poor things!) Linda xx
A belated happy 4th of July to you. Let’s hope power will remain to the people as someone said.
Wow! Terrific, Jan.
I love this, thank you!
HI Jan, it looks like a lovely parade. USA politics is very complicated at the moment.
I think it’s the last gasp of conservative “values” – marriage between only a man and a woman, the only religion is Christianity, etc. Whether it takes down democracy is what has everyone worried.
Yes, I understand that.
It looks like a lovely community event. On days like 4th of July, I miss living in the States. Nice and happy photos, Jan. Happy much-belated 4th! 🙂
The parade is fun but it’s only a four minute walk from my house which makes it a can’t miss every year!
