If Honolulu is on your bucket list, I strongly recommend visiting in mid-March. Not only is the weather mild (if you don’t mind the occasional rain shower) but that’s when the annual Honolulu Festival is held.
It’s actually a celebration of all the various races and cultures that are Hawaii. The Japanese, Chinese, Indonesians, Tahitians, etc. After days of exhibits and contests held at various venues throughout the city, the festivities end with a parade that goes on literally all day.
And it is exuberant and full of fun. And loud!
But after dark the world explodes.
Next, a more somber but also unforgettable festival.
Wow! Fun parade, and great fireworks video. My laptop fullscreen loves it. Looking forward to your next festival.
It was such a fun parade – I wish I’d gotten better pictures!
Such a great time to go. But for us, anytime is really okay for Hawaii!
Yes, it truly is paradise however summer is a bit too hot for me!
True, I like spring or fall best.
Thanks for sharing your trip with us. Seattle is water-logged still, so your blog is giving me a dose of sunshine and aloha!
We had a couple of sunny days down here in SF but now the rain has come back!
I’m just waiting to upgrade to 3D scope so I can experience the fireworks in blast-o-round and I’m set!!
Have fun!
Jan, this was so fun and exciting! It helped me to feel closer to my future dream vacation. 🙂 My youngest daughter went a semester of her senior year to Chamunade University which is a “sister college” to University of Dayton. I helped her pack up, wishing my life were not a mess (my ex was unemployed, we were facing house foreclosure and I was teaching as well as a 2nd job to reach my Master’s. . . ) Oh, how I would have loved to go to Hawaii! ❤ So glad you were with your new grandbaby from his beginning.
Thanks! Hopefully you will be able to get over!
