This is a long read but a reminder that, while America’s tit is definitely caught in the wringer, there are many more dire situations in the world. Plus I love the Johnny Cash clip at the end. As I told Duke, it is oddly comforting.

The pain is so raw and makes me think about what I’m avoiding which is the ugly past, the uncertain present and the terrifying future. In the meantime, I drink coffee and sit with my cat and some books. I worry for my daughters and grandsons more than I do for myself.
Me too. There’s some comfort to be closer to the end.
Interesting post. I’m currently reading a book that says we’ve been setting the stage since 1776, and that our focus, solely based on two perspectives—either right or wrong—without reasonable discussion about the in-between, is dividing this country more and more every day. Agree, the video of Johnny Cash was cool.
Somewhere along the line I learned that when things go wrong I can “mope, cope, or hope” and at this point I’m in my coping phase. Will hope return? I dunno, but I do know that carrying on in a positive calm way is the perfect way to irritate people who adore Don the Con.
Hope is definitely the hardest thing to feel these days.
As an undocumented refugee
from the U.S. of A., all I can say
is I’m truly grateful for being
granted asylum here in Australia 🌏
… and a fascinating read 👍
