Originally I decided not to participate in Norm Frampton’s #ThursdayDoors event because it’s been a rough and trying week. Two deaths, one of them a suicide, both unexpected. Instead I took a walk down to my favorite place.
My favorite door is the panel in the middle. It’s a barn-style door hanging from hinges thus it slides to one side to “open.” What do you think it reveals?
Sorry to hear about your week. Geez, that is tough.
Thanks John. Two in one week is a lot.
Whatever is behind that beautiful door, it’s better than two unexpected deaths in a week — hang in there Jan.
Thanks Jet – it’s a great place to go when you’re feeling low.
I think it reveals better days ahead!
How very sweet of you!
So sorry to hear of your sad losses, Jan. How awful for their friends and families. You did well to manage a post in such a terrible week. Your photo reminds me of Japanese sliding doors. Would there be an ornamental garden behind them by any chance?
Thanks Jean. You’re right – the inspiration for the design was a Japanese tea house.
So sorry to hear the sad new Jan. Sending you virtual hugs 🙂
I can feel them – thank you!
That’s a beautiful door. I’m sorry you had such a tough week. Is it only the center panel that moves?
Yes – the other panels are stationary.
Jan, I’m so sorry for your losses. Here’s hoping there’s a peaceful place with lots of good stuff on the other side of that lovely door.
Sorry to hear about your sad news Jan. You did the best thing by going off to somewhere that brings you some comfort. Take care.
Dang…. I have other words but don’t think they are appropriate. So sorry.
I think this is the door to the wonderful art studio Joel built for you.
Grim Jan hope it’s sunny on the other side
Sorry to hear of your losses, this door has a Japanese feel about it.
So sorry to hear of your loss, Jan. (And happy you have such a beautiful studio retreat.) I am with you during this very sad time.
That is tough, Jan. I think it’ll reveal a place to be alone with your thoughts… and to grieve and remember.
Love the door but very sorry for your losses.
