I hate to brag, but I have a very talented automobile. Behold her masterpiece:

Those of you familiar with the work of Georgia O’Keeffe may think my sixteen-year-old gutless wonder is copying her style, but no brushes were used in creating this masterpiece. Only the rising sun.

Of course, like sandcastles and chalk murals, car art is transient. Here one moment; gone the next.
Here is another work of art, slightly less transient.

Shelly, who’s been the star attraction at the local garden shop for SIXTY Years.

Not to worry – she’s well taken care of.

How beautiful!
And ephemeral…
❤️
A special reward for those of us who rise with the sun!
yes this is special 💜💜💜
I thought so – amazing what reflections will do.
its beautiful 💕
Don’t ever forget these things:
The nature of the world. My nature. How I relate to the world. What proportion of it I make up. That you are part of nature, and no one can prevent you from speaking and acting in harmony with it, always.
Meditations, Marcus Aurelius.
I don’t know why but you’re posting as anonymous. That book is gaining in popularity – I heard one podcaster say.
She really is an amazing artist, certainly better than many of the modern artists I’ve seen. 😁. And I imagine she has an ever/changing array of creations.
I was surprised to see such a sight against my funky old garage door!
I saw and photographed something similar in our garage several years ago. It was so much fun to see.
Reflections can be mind-blowing. They are an alternate reality.
I was quite impressed – this morning’s reflections were not quite as artistic! There seem to be many alternate realities.
Wow, reflections can make the mundane magical. 60 years, wow! Some animals need to be put in people’s wills because they outlive us.
And she looks very healthy! Yes, many older people need their pets for companionship and want to make sure they’re rewarded. Our cat is pretty old so it’s kind of touch and go as to which of us will go first!
What a star of the show, Shelly is. She is looking good at 60. Living life in the slow lane. No wonder they outlive us all.
She truly is – they had a sixtieth birthday party of her last month!
My Prius never makes art, or at least not for me!
The reflections disappeared after the sun had completely risen and so it truly was transient art. As transient as I’ve seen!
I love it! Art pops up where it is elastic expected!
That is true!
Wow, beautiful, magical car art. I love the poem! Peaceful Sunday to you, Jan.
Thank you – the poem is from R. Tagore’s book Fireflies – which I’ve had since high school graduation – it’s been with me everywhere.
Oh, I love that!
Fabulous natural artwork and what a beautiful turtle. Sixty years! How wonderful and she looks so young 🐢 LOL This was such a fun post and I can’t wait to go to a garden shop. It’s freezing here.
I love going to the garden shop and visiting Shelley. I usually spend too much money on plants that have no chance for survival in my yard but I enjoy the trip.
I’m the same way. I love going, and buying beautiful plants, as well. Sadly, I’m not a good gardener. No turtles in any of the places I shop, however.
I’m not either – although there are a couple of plants that have had babies that I’ve successfully transplanted. Then they become my babies.
There is beauty and wonder all around us if we open our eyes and look for it.
T’is true.
💖
Well done. It takes a keen eye to catch that.
The problem was getting a picture – as the car was in the way! And the sun was rising fast.
Well done.
Wow, Shelly has quite a kingdom there.
I love that place – it’s so peaceful.
It looks awesome.
It’s a beautiful place but as you can imagine, the plants are quite expensive!
Oh, I bet.
Very heart-warming.
Yes, my car is quite proud of herself! Course the sun had something to do with it!
🙂
